Cybersecurity incidents involve highly technical information that can be difficult for non-technical audiences to understand. Reports about attacks often include technical terminology and large amounts of data that may overwhelm readers.
Organizations such as Cloudflare must communicate these events clearly to help audiences understand the scale and impact of cyber threats. The challenge for this project was to simplify complex cybersecurity information into a format that is visually engaging and easy to interpret.
This project analyzes major distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks targeting Cloudflare and examines how the company communicates cybersecurity incidents to the public. The analysis focused on how technical information about large-scale cyber attacks is presented through blog posts, statistics, and social media updates.
The project explored how complex cybersecurity topics can be translated into clearer communication for broader audiences. As part of the assignment, I designed a visual infographic to explain how DDoS attacks work and to highlight the scale of recent attacks. The goal was to make technical information easier to understand by combining statistics, comparisons, and simplified explanations.
